Head Coach Lori Fish Wins 200th Career Contest
St. Cloud, Minn. – Sophomore Madelin Dammann scored a career-high 20 points to lead the St. Cloud State women's basketball team (6-3, 3-2 NSIC) to a 58-52 victory over Minnesota Duluth (6-2, 4-1 NSIC) on Saturday, Dec. 16, at Halenbeck Hall.
Dammann shot 7-for-10 from the field and 3-for-4 from three-point range plus had five rebounds in the win. Redshirt sophomore Brianna Johnson picked up her first double-double of the season and second of her career with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Senior Amanda Christianson totaled eight points and seven rebounds. Freshman Tori Wortz tallied nine points, two rebounds and three assists.
Minnesota Duluth had three players reach double figures. Sammy Kozlowski led the team with 11 points and four assists. Ann Simonet and Sarah Grow both had 10 points. Anna Monke led the team with her five rebounds.
The Huskies shot 53.7 percent from the field (22-for-41), 40 percent from three-point range (6-for-15) and 66.7 percent from the free throw line (8-for-12). UMD shot 33.9 percent from the field (20-for-59), 23,8 percent from three-point range (5-for-21) and 50 percent from the line (7-for-14). SCSU held a 40-25 advantage in rebounds, but also committed 22 turnovers.
The game featured four lead changes and two tied scores. SCSU largest lead was 14 points, 30-16, with 2:43 remaining in the second quarter on a made three from Dammann. The game was tied at 48 with 4:43 remaining in the game, but a 9-2 run from SCSU gave the team control in what would be a 58-52 victory.
The St. Cloud State women's basketball team now has a break for the Christmas holiday and will next be in action with a road trip to North Dakota. The program takes on Minot State on Saturday, Dec. 30, at 4 p.m. The team continues the road swing and plays against the University of Mary on Sunday, Dec. 31, at 2 p.m.

- This was the first game this season that Madelin Dammann has led the team in scoring.
- The double-double was the first for Brianna Johnson since getting 13 points and 12 rebounds against MSU Moorhead last season (2/17/17).
- The win was the 138th career win for head coach Lori Fish at SCSU and her 200th career victory during her 14 seasons as a collegiate head coach
