Men’s Basketball Plays Final Regular Season Road Games This Weekend

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The St. Cloud State men's basketball team (17-10, 13-5 NSIC) plays the final regular season road games of the 2017 campaign this weekend. The program starts the week by traveling to Bismarck, N.D. to take on the University of Mary (9-15, 7-11 NSIC) on Friday, Feb. 10, at 8 p.m. at the McDowell Activity Center. The program continues the road trip and is off to Minot, N.D. to play against Minot State (11-13, 7-11 NSIC) on Saturday, Feb. 11, at 6 p.m. at the MSU Dome.

- Damonta Henry leads the team in scoring at 16.0 points per game and made threes with 51 triples.
- Bryan Jefferson is averaging 15.8 points and 7.6 rebounds per game plus shooting 52 percent from the field.
- Rickey Suggs is also averaging in double figures at 10.1 points per game, while also shooting 52 percent from the field.
- Pat Thomas leads the team in both assists (99) and steals (32).
- The Marauders split the two games over the weekend to Sioux Falls (W, 81-72) and Southwest Minnesota State (L, 76-62).

- The Beavers are coached by Matt Murken, who is in his fifth year running the program.
- Minot State are the best team in the conference at defending the three-point line (33.8) and are third in the league in field goal shooting percentage (49.3).
- MSU split the two games last weekend with a win over Sioux Falls (77-66) and a loss to Southwest Minnesota State (74-64).
- The Beavers have won four of the last seven games and are 9-4 in home contest this season including a victory over reigning NCAA DII National Champion Augustana.
- Tyler Rudolph is averaging 20.8 points and a conference-leading 9.8 rebounds per game.
- He is also shooting 53 percent from the field, 38 percent from three-point range and 81 percent from the free throw line.
- Rudolph has also picked up 24 blocks and has led the team in rebounding in 13 straight games with 11 of those times being in double figures.
- Luis Ricci Maia sports an average of 12.8 points per game and leads the team with his 108 assists and average of 4.5 assists per game.
- His assist average is third in the conference.
- Nathan Mertens is also averaging in double figures at 10.7 per game.
- Nathaniel Moore chips in at 9.7 points per game off the bench.
- Russ Davis is the top three-point shooter in the conference at 49.6 percent.
- Davis' 65 threes made are third-best in the league.

- St. Cloud State is 12-8 all-time against the University of Mary including an 88-73 victory at home against the Marauders earlier this season (12/31/16).
- Gage Davis had 21 points, eight rebounds and five assists in the win.
- Scottie Stone totaled 18 points.
- Jon Averkamp recorded eight points and 10 rebounds.
- Trevon Marshall had a career-high 19 points.
- Besides last year's sweep of the Marauders, SCSU has only been able to take both games of the season series once (2009-10).
