Men’s Basketball Off To Wayne State College and Augustana This Weekend

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The St. Cloud State men's basketball team (13-6, 9-4 NSIC) gets back in action this weekend with an NSIC road trip. The program takes on Wayne State College (11-11, 6-8 NSIC) on Friday, Jan. 26, at 8 p.m. at Rice Auditorium in Wayne, Nebraska and continues the road trip against Augustana (12-8, 7-7 NSIC) on Saturday, Jan. 27, at 6 p.m. at Sioux Falls Arena in Sioux Falls, S.D.

- St. Cloud State had a big weekend with a pair of home victories over No. 8 Northern State (76-61) on Jan. 19 and MSU Moorhead (69-55) on Jan. 20.
- The program has now won 11 of the last 15 games.
- Senior Jon Averkamp helped lead the team to the win over Northern State to stop their 18-game winning streak with a game-high 18 points on 7-for-8 shooting from the field.
- He also had five rebounds and two steals.
- Junior Gage Davis totaled 16 points, six rebounds, three blocks and a season-high nine assists.
- Junior Sean Smith reached double figures with 15 points and six rebounds.
- Junior Adam Heede-Andersen recorded nine points, three assists and two steals.
- Senior Andy Foley chipped in with seven points, three rebounds and two assists.
