STOPS HERE:  Goalie David Hrenak posted his fourth career shutout in the 7-0 win vs. Boston College.  He hit a season game-high in the game with 32 saves.  The last time that Hrenak posted a shutout was a 4-0 win at Miami on Feb. 10.  Hrenak has been impressive this season with a 3-0-0 record, a 1.00 GAA, a .958 save rate and only three goals allowed (only two even strength goas)  in 179:33 minutes of play.  He is on the watch list for the 2018-19 Mike Richter Award presented by Let's Play Hockey.
Senior CLASS Award: Senior defender Jimmy Schuldt has been selected as a candidate for the 2019 Senior CLASS Award.  This elite award honors senior student-athlete who have made notable achievements in the areas of excellence, community, classroom, character and competition.  An All-America award winner in 2018, Schuldt was selected as a Hobey Baker Award Top 10 candidate last winter.  Visit seniorclassaward.com for more details.
HOT HUSKIES: Jack Ahcan and Patrick Newell both own 6-game point scoring streaks heading into this week's games at CC.  Ahcan ranks second in the nation among DI players with nine assists and sixth with 1.50 assists per game this season.  He also ranks third among all NCAA DI defensemen with 10 points in 2018-19.  Newell leads the nation with three game winning goals in 2018-19.
LOCAL HERO:  Rookie blueliner Spencer Meier, a resident of nearby Sartell, tallied his first college points with a three assist game against Boston College on Oct. 25.  He attended Sartell H.S. and played junior hockey at Fargo (USHL).
TOPS ON THE TEAM:  Jack Ahcan paces SCSU his season with 10 points and nine assists, while Patrick Newell has four goals and nine points.  Newell is tied for the team's goal scoring lead along with Sam Hentges at four goals apiece this winter.  On the plus/minus, Newell and Hentges also lead the club at +9. Â
HATTY FOR HENTGES:  Sam Hentges scored his first career hat trick with his three goal night at Boston College on Oct. 25.  This was the first time a Husky has scored a hat trick since Robby Jackson had three at Arizona State on Dec. 31, 2016.
BIG NIGHT:  The seven goals scored against Boston College were the most goals scored by the Huskies in a game since posting a 7-4 win at Omaha on Dec. 1, 2017.  The big win at BC was also the largest margin of victory for the Huskies since a 7-0 victory over Arizona State at the HBNHC on Jan. 2, 2016.  Of note, SCSU had back-to-back shutout against NMU (Oct. 20) and BC (Oct. 25).  The last time SCSU had two consecutive shutouts was a 4-0 win and a 3-0 win against Minnesota State on Oct. 16-17 in St. Cloud.
THE NOTEBOOK:  Jimmy Schuldt and Robby Jackson both need 13 more points to join the Huskies' 100-point club and Patrick Newell needs 18 points to hit 100...Jimmy Schuldt has played in 123 consecutive games during his college career at SCSU...SCSU has only allowed one power play goal this season...last year at home against Colorado College, SCSU's Easton Brodzinski and Patrick Newell both had two goals in the series against the Tigers.  Jacob Benson, Luke Jaycox, Robby Jackson and Blake Lizotte also had goals in the series...SCSU has won its last nine games at CC with its last loss at the World Arena coming on Feb. 22, 2013 (L, 4-3).
