In a rain shortened tournament at the 2018 Holiday Inn Express Classic in St. Joseph, Mo., the St. Cloud State University men's golf team placed 17th in the event that took place on Monday, Oct. 8 at the St. Joseph Country Club.

The tournament was scheduled for a two-day 36-hole event but rain reduced the number of holes played to one 18-hole round on Oct. 8.

SCSU tallied 313 points in the tournament, while Washburn University won the event with a score of 284.

Troy Ryynanen paced SCSU with a 41st place score of 75, while Alex Schwab was second with a score of 76 (54th place) and Mitch Rice was third with a score of 80 (82nd). The team's contingent in Missouri was completed by Riley Duncanson (81/86th place), Regan Steen (81/86th place), Quinn Massey (83/92nd place) and Austin Janski (85/94th place).

The tournament marked the end of the Huskies' fall schedule with the second half of the 2018-19 beginning in the spring.
