SCSU Splits in Weekend Set on the Road

ELLENSBURG, WAS. - The St. Cloud State women's basketball team (2-1, 0-0 NSIC) picked up a Saturday win over non-conference opponent, Concordia University (OR) by a score of 66-55. Saturday's win comes after a loss to open the Huskies' run in the Central Washington Tournament.
For the second time this season, Mallie Doucette paced the scoring efforts for SCSU with 19 points off of the bench. The redshirt senior was 4-12 from the field, 3-10 from beyond the arc and 8-10 from the free throw line in her 20 minutes played against the Cavaliers. Madelin Dammann finished with 16 points, four rebounds and a steal after shooting 4-7 from three-point land.
Nikki Kilboten fell two rebounds shy of her first double-double of the year after posting ten points and eight boards in Saturday's contest. Of note, Brehna Evans recorded a team high of three steals and four assists while also shooting 3-4 from the free throw line.
As a team, St. Cloud State out-shot Concordia from the field, beyond the arc and at the free throw line. The Huskies shot 24-31 from the line and scored ten points off of the Cavalier's ten turnovers. Although being out-rebounded 43-41, the Huskies collected 11 points off of their ten team rebounds, and posting 24 points in the paint in their gritty victory to close out the road trip.
The Huskies' largest lead of the night came in the final minute of the fourth quarter when SCSU pulled ahead by eleven points to finish out their trip to Washington with a 66-55 victory.
St. Cloud State returns to action at Halenbeck Hall on Saturday, Nov. 24th against NCAA DIII opponent Northland College. Tip off is slotted for 4 PM CT against the Jills.
