
Huskies Open Conference Season Against Minnesota Duluth on Saturday

St. Cloud State is looking to extend a seven game winning streak against UMD at Halenbeck Hall
ST. CLOUD, MINN. - The St. Cloud State women's basketball team (3-1, 0-0 NSIC) will make their 2018-19 NSIC regular season debut against the Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs (1-1, 0-0 NSIC) on Saturday, Dec. 1 at 2 PM in Halenbeck Hall.
Students receive FREE admittance to Saturday's contest, where there will also be $1 Hot Dogs to go along with the Winter Clothing Drive that will continue through the Men's game at 4 PM. All fans who donate a winter clothing item will receive $5 off of their game ticket.

BIG WINNERS
SCSU is coming off of a 97-29 victory over Northland college, the first time a Huskies' defense has held an opponent to 30 points or less since the 2005-06 season. Katrina Theis dropped a career high of 13 points while Tori Wortz and Madelin Dammann also reached double-figures. Wortz added four points to go along with her 11 points while Dammann was 2-3 from three-point land in her ten point performance. As a team, SCSU shot 52.1 percent from the field and 83.3 from the line, while also shooting 42.3 percent from three-point range. Northland's best offensive efforts came in the third quarter when the Jills posted eleven points against SCSU. Â

The Huskies are coming off of a successful 2017-18 NSICÂ campaign, a 14-8 mark that landed SCSU a conference tournament berth as well as a third place finish in the NSIC North.Â

SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
UMD is returning each of their five starters from last season, the most successful campaign they have charted since 2011-12. Sammy Kozlowski is the Bulldogs' leading scorer at 13 points per game, while Emma Boehm is also averaging double-figures with 11. Both are shooting 33.3 percent from beyond the arc. Sarah Grow leads the Bulldogs' efforts on the glass with 14 total rebounds through two games. Off the bench, Payton Kahl is averaging 9.5 points per game and has tallied a team high of five assists.Â
