
Huskies to Challenge U-Mary and Minot State in Pair of Road Conference Contests

SCSU is 6-4 against U-Mary and Minot in their last ten meetings.
After opening the 2018-19 NSICÂ campaign against the Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs last weekend, the St. Cloud State women's basketball team (3-2, 0-1 NSIC) will continue their conference season on the road in North Dakota this weekend. SCSUÂ will face off against the 3-1 (1-0 NSIC) Marauders of U-Mary on Friday at 5:30 PM in Bismarck, then travel to Minot on Saturday for a 3:30 PM tip off against the Beavers. Both games will be broadcasted on TuneIn and the KVSC Sports Stream, while also being streamed by the host school on each day.Â

LOOKING TO BOUNCE BACK IN BISMARCK
The Huskies are looking to collect their first conference win of the season after opening with a 42-53 loss against the Bulldogs last weekend at Halenbeck Hall. The loss snapped a seven-game winning streak against UMD at home. Heading into this weekend's contests, the Huskies are averaging 68 points a game while holding opponents to 53.4. Pacing SCSU's scoring efforts are Mallie Doucette (12.2 PPG) and Madelin Dammann (11.6 PPG) who are shooting a combined 44.4 percent from the field. Dammann is shooting a team-high of 47.4 percent (9-19) from three point land while Doucette follows at 32.3 percent (10-31). As a team, the Huskies are shooting 67-90 from the free-throw line, the fourth highest in the conference.Â

U-Mary currently sits as the second ranked team in the conference after opening their NSIC season with a 64-58 victory over Minot State last weekend. Three of the Marauders' five starters rank in the top 15 of the NSIC in scoring. Gabbie Bohl is UM's leading scorer, with 19.3 PPG, while also averaging the second most points in the NSIC thus far. Cassie Askvig ranks sixth in the NSIC for scoring with 15.8 PPG. Coral Gillette ranks 12th at 13.3 PPG. Of note, Bohl is averaging 9.8 rebounds per game, the third most in the conference this season. Gillette is the conference's leading three-point threat, averaging 3.8 makes per game.Â
