Preview: Huskies Look to Extend Winning Streak in Last Regular Season Home Series

Following Tuesday's 71-65 victory over Minnesota Duluth, St. Cloud State returns home to Halenbeck Hall to face off against the Marauders of UMary on Friday night at 6 PM and the Minot State Beavers on Saturday night at 4 PM.

Preview: U-Mary vs. St. Cloud State

The Marauders defeated the University of Sioux Falls on Friday night, 76-71 and fell by a score of 73-58 to Southwest Minnesota State on Saturday night.
The Marauders had all five of their starters score in double figures in Friday's win against the Cougars.
Gabby Bohl is the UMary's leading scorer, with 412 total points on the year and an average of 17.9 points per game.
Bohl is the third highest scorer per game in the NSIC.
Laura Rotunda is averaging 1.6 steals per game (6th in NSIC).

Series History: U-Mary Marauders

Since 2009, the Huskies are 9-7 against the Marauders all-time.
SCSU defeated UMary earlier this season by a score of 65-56.
In the game, Andrea Thomas recorded 19 points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals.
Tori Wortz totaled 14 points and Amanda Christianson scored eight.
SCSU shot 40.4 percent frm the field and 42.1 percent from three-point range in the contest.
As a team, the St. Cloud State recorded ten steals.

Preview: Minot State vs. St. Cloud State

The Beavers are on a seven-game winning streak entering this weekend.
Minot State defeated the SMSU Mustangs last friday, 66-48 and the Sioux Falls Cougars, 72-64 on Saturday.
Holly Johnson is pacing the Beavers' offense with 16.2 points per game. (5th in NSIC)
Kristal Flowers is averaging 4.8 rebounds per game. (9th in NSIC)

Series History: Minot State Beavers

Since 1979, SCSU is 9-4 all-time against Minot State.
The Huskies fell by a score of 61-58 to the Beavers earlier this season.
In the game, Tori Wortz recorded a career-high of 22 points.
Andrea Thomas and Amanda Christianson each scored 12 points.
Mackenzie Uter recorded four assists and two steals.
MSU's Holly Johnson totaled 18 points while Madison Wald recorded 15 points.
Krista Flowers had 13 points and eight rebounds.

Last Time Out

St. Cloud State snapped a three-game losing streak last Friday against Concordia St. Paul (62-49) that was the longest of the 2017-18 campaign.
The Huskies defeated Minnesota State Mankato, 68-67 on Saturday night.
Tori Wortz had a game-high of 19 points.
Andrea Thomas, Madelin Dammann and Nikki Kilboten each scored in double-figures.
On Tuesday night, SCSU defeated the University of Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs by a score of 71-65.
In the contest, Andrea Thomas recorded a career-high of 25 points.
20 of Thomas' points came in the second half of the game.
Amanda Christianson and Brianna Johnson each scored in double-figures, with Christianson recording 16 and Johnson scoring 13.
As a team, SCSU shot 55.6 percent (22-45) from the field, 50 percent (7-14) from three-point range and 66.7 percent (14-21) from the free-throw line.
The Huskies totaled three blocks, four steals and out-rebounded the Bulldogs, 35-25.
The Bulldogs were led by Katie Stark's 13 points and three rebounds while Emma Boehm and Sarah Grow each scored 12 points as well.
Sammy Kozlowski recorded a game-high of 13 assists.
St. Cloud State did not control a lead in the contest until mid-way through the fourth quarter.
Last year, SCSU was 2-4 in February to close out the regular season.

Senior Special

This weekend is the last regular season series at Halenbeck Hall for the 2018 senior class of Amanda Christianson, McKenna Happke, Emily Pratt and Andrea Thomas.
Entering this weekend, the SCSU seniors hold a 55-49 record over their four years of being a Husky.

Upcoming Action

St. Cloud State will be on the road next weekend to close out the regular season against the Minnesota State Moorhead Dragons on Friday, Feb. 16 at 6 PM and on Saturday at 4 PM against the Northern State Wolves. Following next weekend's series, the Huskies will enter the first round of the NSIC tournament. The first round of games begins Wednesday, Feb. 21. Times are TBD.
