St. Cloud State men's golf claims first place at Augustana Invitiational

The St. Cloud State University men's golf team captured the top spot at the Augustana Invitational on Sept. 29-30. The tournament was held at the Par 72 Elmwood Golf Course in Sioux Falls, S.D.
The Huskies gained first place honors in the seven-team meet with a two-day score of 598 (304-294), while host Augustana placed second at one stroke behind at 599 (304-295). Manitoba (605), Sioux Falls (606), Bemidji State (611), Concordia-St. Paul (611) and Minnesota Crookston (625) completed the field. 2018 AUGUSTANA INVITATIONAL CHAMPIONS - ST. CLOUD STATE
SCSU's Troy Ryynanen and Regan Steen led the Huskies with second place scores of 145. Ryynanen's tournament scorecard was 76-69, while Steen was 73-72. Riley Duncanson placed 13th with a score of 151 (77-74) and Quinn Masey was in 18th place at 154 (78-76). Alex Schwab placed 26th at 157 (78-79), while Austin Janski was 36th (81-79) and Mitch Rice was 39th at 162 (83-79).
The Huskies will complete the fall portion of its season on Oct. 7-9 with a trip to the Missouri Western Invitational in St. Joseph, Mo.
