Former Huskies on opening night NHL rosters in 2019-20

St. Cloud State University will be well represented on the opening night of the National Hockey League season on Wednesday, Oct. 2. A total of seven former Huskies have been listed on the opening day rosters for in the NHL for 2019-20.
This group includes two Huskies from SCSU's 2018-19 roster (Jimmy Schuldt and Blake Lizotte) and it carries on a long tradition of former SCSU players in the NHL, which dates back to Frank Brimsek from 1938 to 1950.  Since that time, a total of 36 former Huskies have skated in NHL games, including 14 players on NHL lineups in 2018-19.
Listed below are the former Huskies hitting the ice in NHL games on opening night in 2019-20. Of note, former Husky Kalle Kossila is on the injured reserve list at Toronto.
The SCSU Huskies will open their 2019-20 season on Sunday, Oct. 6 with a 5:07 p.m. exhibition game at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center against Alberta. Tickets are available for this match and you can purchase them at scsutickets.com or by calling the SCSU Athletic Ticket Office at 1-877-SCSUTIX. Â
ATTENTION SCSU STUDENTS! All SCSU students with a valid SCSU student ID card are admitted FREE to all regular season home games in 2019-20. Just show your ID card at the gate and you get in FREE...it is that easy!
