Men's basketball falls in Mankato 73-61

MANKATO, MINN. – The St. Cloud State University men's basketball team suffered a 73-61 loss to Minnesota State University Saturday evening in Mankato, Minnesota.
The Huskies hung with the Mavericks during the first half and were down just four points entering the locker room at half time. In fact, St. Cloud State shot 48 percent from the floor in the first 20 minutes of play and led by as many as three points during the half. However, the Huskies were unable to contain Minnesota State's offensive in the second half, as the Mavericks outscored their opponent 34-26 to win the game 73-61.
Senior guard Trevon Marshall (Evanston, Ill. / Evanston Township) was the team's top offensive weapon in the game, as he scored a team-leading 14 points with six rebounds in 36 minutes of play. Senior Andrija Blatancic (Bergen, Norway / Academy of Arts) added 12 points in the loss on 6-11 shooting from the floor.
With the loss, the Huskies overall record now stands at 1-3 and they remain undefeated in NSIC play. St. Cloud State will return to action on Thursday, November 21 when it hosts Waldorf University at 7 p.m. in Halenbeck Hall.
