ST. CLOUD, MINN. – A lot has gone right for the St. Cloud State University women's basketball team as of late. The Huskies are currently riding a four game win streak against Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) opponents, their longest such win streak of 2019-20. This weekend, St. Cloud State will put its win streak on the line as it hosts Concordia-St. Paul and Minnesota State in two NSIC games Friday and Saturday.
The Huskies have won the first four contests of the new year and look to make it six in a row with wins over the Golden Bears and Mavericks this weekend. In fact, St. Cloud State was on a similar win streak last season when the team hit the road to take on the exact same opponents. Unfortunately, the Huskies fortunes didn't fare well in 2018-19, as they fell to Concordia-St. Paul 63-50 in the weekend opener, snapping their four-game win streak. St. Cloud State then fell to Minnesota State the following day by a final score of 78-62 in Mankato, Minnesota.
Friday's game against the Golden Bears is slated to start at 5:30 p.m., while tip off for Saturday's game is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. in Halenbeck Hall. Fans who cannot attend the games in person can follow along via live stats, video and WJON's live broadcast. Score updates will also be made to the team's official Twitter page (@SCSUHUSKIES_WBB).
