2/5/2020 10:51:00 AM | Women's Basketball
ST. CLOUD, MINN. – To say the St. Cloud State University women's basketball team has spent a lot of time on the road recently might be a bit of an understatement. The Huskies played four consecutive road games to end the month of January, posting a 4-0 record with wins over top teams in both the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) North and South Divisions. After a two week hiatus, St. Cloud State returns to Halenbeck Hall to host Wayne State College and Augustana.
The recent road trips were good for the Huskies, as they closed the month of January with a 10-0 record including a February 1 win over Winona State. This weekend, St. Cloud State will face two formidable NSIC South opponents in the Wildcats and Vikings, who both rank in the top-4 in their respective division.
As per usual, Friday's tip off against Wayne State is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. in Halenbeck Hall, and Saturday's game against Augustana is slated to begin at 3:30 p.m. Live stats, video and WJON's live radio broadcast will be available for fans who can't make the trip, while score updates will be made to the team's official Twitter page (@SCSUHUSKIES_WBB).

Here are the five things to know before this weekend's NSIC series:
10 – The Huskies enter this weekend's contests riding the longest active win-streak in the NSIC, as they've won 10 consecutive games since January 3, all against conference opponents. In fact, the 10-game win streak is historic in several ways, as it is officially the longest such streak for St. Cloud State since the team joined the NSIC in 2008. It's also the longest streak in head coach Lori Fish's tenure with the Huskies and the longest for the team since the 2005-06 season.
5/8 – St. Cloud State's schedule did not get any easier this weekend, as the team plays host to two of the top teams in the NSIC South. Currently, the Wildcats are in a tie for second in the divisional standings and sit in fifth in the NSIC overall standings with a conference record of 10-6. A few paces behind are the Vikings, who are fourth in the division and eighth overall with a 9-7 record in NSIC play.
70.5/57.5 – Last year, the Huskies made a little history in their series against Wayne State and Augustana, as they swept the two teams for the first time in program history. Over the weekend, St. Cloud State averaged 70.5 points on offense while holding its opponents to just 57.5 points in two games. In fact, the Huskies put up 78 in a definitive win over the Wildcats to open the weekend before taking down the Vikings 63-48 in Saturday's meeting.
18.1/8.1/.437 – Junior guard Erin Norling has been key to Wayne State's success all season, as she's currently averaging 18.1 points and 8.1 rebounds while posting a .437 field goal percentage in conference games this season. Thanks to those impressive numbers, Norling has been named the NSIC South Player of the Week once this season and ranks top-10 in the conference in scoring, rebounding and field goal percentage after 20 conference games.
16.5/9.0 - The Huskies will also have to stop Augustana's standout first year Aislinn Duffy, who was recently named the NSIC South Player of the Week after outstanding performances against Mary and Minot State. The first year forward led the Vikings to a weekend sweep by averaging 16.5 points and 9.0 rebounds against the Marauders and Beavers and has socred in double figured in four-consecutive games for Augustana. In a 75-64 win over Minot State, Duffy scored 17 points and pulled in 11 rebounds and followed up that impressive performance with 16 points and four rebounds in a win over Mary.
