Huskies Run Past MN Crookston in Second Half for 3-2 Win

Huskies score three goals in second half to clinch victory
CROOKSTON, Minn. – St. Cloud State Women's Soccer (6-7-3, 6-5-3 NSIC) scored three goals in the second half to secure a 3-1 win over Minnesota Crookston (1-16-0, 1-12-0 NSIC) on Tuesday afternoon in Crookston. Three seniors scored for the Huskies, including redshirt senior forward Nicole Friis (Appleton, Wis.), who scored the game-winning goal in the 76th minute.
The game was a makeup game from a game previously scheduled on Friday, Oct. 8, which was halted due to inclement weather in the area.
TURNING POINT
After a scoreless first half, the Huskies jumped out to a 2-0 lead early in the second half after goals from senior midfielder Arianna Del Moral (Brooklyn Center, Minn.) in the 46th minute and senior forward Claire Shea (Exclesior, Minn.) in the 58th minute. The Golden Eagles were able to tie the score with goals in the 61st and 63rd minute, but Friis goal in the 76th minute gave the Huskies the victory.
