Shea Powers Huskies to 2-1 OT Win over UMD in Regular Season Finale

Huskies clinch No. 7 seed in NSIC Tournament with victory
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Women's Soccer (7-7-3, 7-5-3 NSIC) clinched its spot in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Tournament with a 2-1 overtime win over Minnesota Duluth (3-12-3, 3-9-3 NSIC) on Friday evening at Husky Stadium in St. Cloud, Minn. Senior forward Claire Shea (Exclesior, Minn.) provided the offense for the Huskies, scoring both St. Cloud State goals, including the game-winner in the 103rd minute.
TURNING POINT
Both team's scored in the first half, but were held scoreless in the second half and the first overtime. Just a few minutes into the second overtime, Shea was able to control a lose ball at the top of the box and hammer home a lazer shot above the goalie to give the Huskies the 2-1 win.

With the win, St. Cloud State clinched the No. 7 seed in the NSIC Tournament. The Huskies will travel to Sioux Falls, S.D., to face Augustana on Wednesday, Nov. 10 for a first-round matchup.
