Huskies Opens NSIC Tournament at Augustana

St. Cloud State will play Augustana at 2 p.m. CT on Wednesday in Sioux Falls
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Women's Soccer (7-7-3, 7-5-3 NSIC) is set to face Augustana (13-3-2, 12-1-2 NSIC) in the first round of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Tournament on Wednesday. The game is scheduled to start at 2 p.m. CT at Morstad Field in Sioux Falls, S.D., and will be broadcast on the NSIC Network.
The winner of Friday's contest will advance to the semifinals against the winner of Minnesota State and Mary on Friday, Nov. 12. The championship game will be played on Sunday, Nov. 14. The highest seeded team will host each game of the tournament.
In its last postseason appearance, the Huskies advanced to the 2019 NSIC semifinals, where they fell to Concordia St. Paul, 2-1, on Nov. 15.
The Huskies are entering postseason on a hot streak, posting a 4-0-1 mark in its final five regular season games. In its most recent contest, the Huskies beat Minnesota Duluth, 2-1, in overtime on Nov. 5, behind a pair of goals from senior forward Claire Shea (Exclesior, Minn.).
Shea was named the NSIC Offensive Player of the Week on Nov. 8 after scoring three goals over two matches last week of the regular season. Shea scored the second goal in the Huskies 3-2 win over Minnesota Crookston on Nov. 2, and both of St. Cloud State's goals in a 2-1 overtime win over Minnesota Duluth on Nov. 5. The overtime win over Minnesota Duluth helped secure the seventh seed in the NSIC Tournament for the Huskies. The senior forward has had a breakout campaign in her final season as a Husky, scoring nine goals and four game-winners, both team-highs.
