
Huskies offense ignites in 89-73 win

St. Cloud State shoots .525 from the floor, including a .444 clip from three-point range
MARQUETTE, Mich. – The St. Cloud State University men's basketball team is back to its winning ways. The Huskies snapped their three-game losing streak in Marquette, Michigan Saturday afternoon, defeating Northern Michigan by a final score of 89-73. St. Cloud State is now 3-3 overall with an 0-1 mark in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) play.
GAME SUMMARY
St. Cloud State's offense was back on display Saturday morning and early afternoon, as the Huskies scored a blistering 40 points in the first half and led 40-28 after the opening 20 minutes of play. Of the seven student-athletes who saw play in the first half, all seven scored at least four points, including Caleb Donaldson (Bloomington, Ill. / Bloomington), who scored a team-leading 10. Anthony Roberts (Chicago, Ill. / Oak Park) was the team's rebounding machine in the first half, pulling in a team-high six to go along with three assists, one steal and two blocks.
The Huskies continued scoring in the second half, as three student-athletes scored double-digit points before the 10 minute mark. In addition to Donaldson, Roberts and Matthew Willert (Buffalo, Minn. / Buffalo) eclipsed the 10 point mark in the second half, scoring 13 and 14 points before the nine minute mark. Ryan Bagley (Pocatello, Idaho / Burley) and Josh Tomasi (Melbourne, Australia / Box Hill) joined shortly thereafter, propelling St. Cloud State to an 89-73 victory.
TOP HUSKIES
- Anthony Roberts (Chicago, Ill. / Oak Park) and Ryan Bagley (Pocatello, Idaho / Burley) both tallied double-doubles in the Huskies win. Roberts finished with a team-leading 17 points and 13 rebounds, while Bagley closed the game with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
- In addition to Roberts and Bagley, three other student-athletes scored in double-digits Saturday. Caleb Donaldson (Bloomington, Ill. / Bloomington) scored 16 points and tallied a team-leading four assists, while Matthew Willert (Buffalo, Minn. / Buffalo) and Josh Tomasi (Melbourne, Australia / Box Hill) finished with 14 and 11 points respectively.
- Luke Taylor (Germantown, Wis. / Germantown) scored a career-high eight points in the victory.

St. Cloud State's road trip continues on Sunday, as the team travels to Houghton, Michigan for a Sunday duel with Michigan Tech. Tip off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. CT in Houghton, Michigan.
