Doc Swendra to serve as panelist at ABCA Convention in January

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Baseball assistant coach Rob "Doc" Swendra has been announced as a panelist for the American Baseball Coaches Association Convention held in Chicago from January 6-9. Swendra will be one of four panelists discussing coaching outfield play as part of the Outfield Hot Stove session.
"I'm really excited to be speaking at the ABCA Convention again," said Swendra, "I'm not sure if I am more excited this time or my first time in Nashville in 2019. But I'm honored to be one of the speakers in the Outfield Hot Stove session that will take place on Saturday January 8th in Chicago."
Swendra will be joined by Michigan State head coach Jake Boss, Boston Red Sox Outfield & Baserunning coach Darren Fenster and Ogelthorpe head coach Kellen Greer on the panel moderated by former Oregon State assistant coach Pat Bailey.
"I've been a member of the ABCA for the past eight years and I look forward to this convention every year," Swendra continued, "It's an opportunity to meet, talk with and learn from coaches at every level and from around the world about this great game."
St. Cloud State has had 10 players earn Gold Gloves during Swendra's time on the staff, including centerfielder Eric Loxtercamp's back-to-back nods in 2014 and 2015. His most recent Gold Glover – 2019 centerfielder Najee Gaskins – was selected by the San Francisco Giants in the 2019 Major League Baseball Amateur Draft.
