
Apicello and Matchinsky Earn Conference Weekly Honors

Both Huskies recognized for the diving performances over the weekend
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Swim & Dive had two student athletes earn conference weekly honors, as announced on Tuesday. Sophomore Dylan Apicello (Colorado Springs, Colo.) was named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Diver of the Week, while senior Meredith Matchinsky (St. Cloud, Minn.) was named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Diver of the Week.
Apicello helped the Huskies pick up victories over D-I Omaha and Augustana on Friday and Saturday, respectively. He won the 3-meter dive (233.33) and finished third in the 1-meter dive (198.38) against Omaha and followed up that performance by winning the 3-meter dive (243.95) 1-meter dive (235.65) against Augustana.
Matchinsky won the 3-meter dive against Omaha with a score of 274.20 on Friday and finished first in both the 1-meter (239.15) and 3-meter (261.25) against Sioux Falls and Augustana on Saturday.
Up next, the Huskies will host Northern Michigan for a two-day meet on Friday, Oct. 7 and Saturday, Oct. 8 at the Halenbeck Hall Aquatic Center. Events on Friday are scheduled to start at 5:00 p.m. CT and at 10:00 a.m. CT on Saturday.
