
St. Cloud State Men's Basketball Hosts Bemidji State Then Hits The Road to MN Crookston

ST. CLOUD, Minn. - The St. Cloud State men's basketball team will host Bemidji State on Thursday, December 1 before hitting the road to take on Minnesota Crookston on Saturday, December 3. Thursday's game is set for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off while Saturday's game will take place at 3:00 p.m.Â

A Look Back
Last weekend the Huskies played host to Northern Michigan and Michigan Tech where St. Cloud came away with a weekend sweep. On Saturday, the Huskies trailed 41-38 at the half to Northern Michigan despite a well-balanced scoring effort with both teams going back and forth. Halfway through the second half, the Huskies tied the game with 53 apiece which sparked the offense as St. Cloud retook the lead to pull out a 76-69 victory over the Wildcats. Tommy Chatman led the Huskies in scoring with 16 points and 11 rebounds earning him a double-double.

On Sunday, the Huskies offense and the defense worked together to shut down Michigan Tech. St. Cloud led by 22 points with 15:33 left in regulation. As the second half progressed, Michigan Tech chipped away at the Huskies lead. However, that sparked the Huskies offense as they went on the attack to close out the game with a 74-56 victory. Luke Taylor led the Huskies in scoring with 18 points and seven rebounds.

Bemidji State Beavers
Bemidji State is off to a 5-1, 1-0 NSIC start to their season so far. They have taken down Nebraska-Kearney, Southern Arkansas, Oak Hills Christian, Minnesota Morris and Minnesota Crookston. The Beavers only loss came from Concordia-St. Paul with a score of 77-76.

A long time rivalry, St. Cloud State and Bemidji State have met for a total of 154 times. The Huskies currently lead the series 102-52 over the Beavers. Over the last two seasons, Bemidji State has held a six game winning streak with the last match-up ending up with the Huskies falling in overtime.

Minnesota Crookston Golden Eagles
Minnesota Crookston opened with a 1-6, 0-1 NSIC start to their season. The Golden Eagles have fallen to Missouri Western, Northwest Missouri State, Northern Michigan, Michigan Tech, Bemidji State and Texas A&M Kingsville. Their only win comes from Presentation where they won 80-76 over the Saints.
