St. Cloud State Men's Basketball Hits the Road for a Pair of NSIC Match-Ups

Huskies travel to U-Mary & Minot State
ST. CLOUD, Minn. - The St. Cloud State men's basketball team will hit the road for two Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) match-ups. On Friday, December 9 the Huskies will be in Bismarck, ND to take on U-Mary. On Saturday, December 10 St. Cloud will take on Minot State.

Friday's game is set for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off while Saturday's game will tip-off at 5:30 p.m. The NSIC Network will provide the game stream both days while live stats will be available on the home team's schedule page.

A Look Back
Last weekend the Huskies earned their four straight wins since the 2018-19 season and their second win in NSIC play. St. Cloud faced Bemidji State and dominated the game right off the bat. The Huskies lead the game 20-6 with 12:35 left in the first half. St. Cloud entered the locker room up 48-33 at half. During the second half, the Huskies went on a 11-point unanswered scoring run and closed the evening with a 81-70 victory. Matthew Willert led with 22 points.

On Saturday, St. Cloud headed north to face Minnesota Crookston. Despite a slow start, the Huskies went on a ten-point scoring late in the first to go up 40-31 at half. Thanks to eight different Huskies adding points to the board, St. Cloud took down UMC 81-67. Matthew Willert led with 23 points.

U-Mary Marauders
The U-Mary Marauders are 5-2, 1-2 NSIC so far this season. U-Mary has a conference win against Minot State 72-69 (Nov. 22) while they fell to Northern State 79-60 (Dec. 1) and MSU Moorhead 88-55 (Dec. 3).

Last season the Huskies split a pair of games with the Marauders. St. Cloud defeated U-Mary in their home court of Halenback Hall 83-78 on December 10 while they fell on the road 90-77 at the Marauders' home court.

Minot State Beavers
Minot State sits at 4-3, 1-2 in NSIC play. The Beavers have a conference win against Northern State 82-62 (Dec. 3) while they were knocked down by U-Mary 72-69 (Nov. 22) and MSU Moorhead 84-63 (Dec. 1).

St. Cloud State has met Minot State for a total of 20 times with the Huskies leading the overall series 15-5. Last season the Huskies split a pair of games with the Beavers. St. Cloud took down Minot State 82-67 at Halenbeck Hall December 11 while they fell 89-81 on the road.
