SCSU meets No. 1 Minnesota for home-and-home series

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Women's Hockey continues their busy stretch with a home-and-home this weekend against No. 1 Minnesota, hosting the Gophers on Friday at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center then traveling Saturday for the finale at Ridder Arena. Puck drop for both games is set for 3:00 p.m. CT.

SCSU split with St. Thomas in a home-and-home last weekend in a pair of 3-2 games, then lost 6-2 to No. 2 Ohio State on Tuesday. Emma Polusny has anchored the goaltending room, going 4-6-2 with a 2.82 GAA and a .925 save percentage. Taylor Lind leads the Huskies in points with a 7-15-22 line, while Emma Gentry is the goal leader with 14 to go with five apples for 19 points. Courtney Hall has been red-hot as of late, providing St. Cloud State with an 2-8-10 line while Mackenzie Bourgerie (4-5-9) owns a career-high nine points, finding a home as a playmaking center. On the blue line, Dayle Ross leads SCSU with 50 blocks while McKenna Wesloh (1-6-7) leads all Huskies defenders in points. Sanni Ahola has earned five wins as the other half of SCSU's goaltending duo and made 39 saves against Ohio State in her last start.
No. 1 Minnesota enters the series having won five of six including a home sweep of then-No. 1 Wisconsin. Last weekend the Gophers swept Bemidji State at Ridder, outscoring the Beavers 12-2. Taylor Heise the way in goals and assists for a 22-29-51 line as the point leader, followed by Abigail Boreen (17) and Amy Potomak (15) and in the goal-scoring department. Boreen has 41 points while Catie Skaja owns 32 to her credit. Makayla Pahl (8-1-0, 1.79 GAA, .933 SV%), Lauren Bench (9-4-1, 2.16 GAA, .920 SV%) and Skylar Vetter (5-2-0, 1.66 GAA, .927 SV%) have shared the majority of the goaltending duties.
St. Cloud State will next host Minnesota-Duluth at the HBNHC on Tuesday, February 15 at 3:00 p.m. CT.
