
St. Cloud Swim and Dive Set to Face South Dakota State

Huskies will compete in Brookings, SD starting at 4:00 p.m. CT Friday
St. Cloud, Minn. – The St. Cloud State Swim & Dive team returns to action for the first time in six weeks on Friday, Jan. 13, as the Huskies travel to Brookings, SD to compete against South Dakota State. Events are scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m. CT.
The Huskies last competes at the Rochester Invite Dec 2-4 in Rochester, Minn., where the women's team finished second and the men's team finished first. A total of seven school records were broken over the weekend.
For the men, Junior Raf Hendriks lowered his own 100-yard backstroke record going a 47.67. Junior Emile Dost earned the 200-yard IM record with a time of 1:49.44. The men's 200-yard medley relay of Hendriks, senior Jayden Porter, Dost, and senior Abe Townley set the school record posting a time of 1:27.35. The team beat their own school record from last season. The men's 200-yard freestyle relay of Townley, Hendriks, Dost, and freshman Mason Beck earned the school record posting a time of 1:19.48. This time ranks them 4th in the country. The men's 400-yard medley relay of Hendriks, Porter, Dost, and Beck earned the school record posting a time of 3:14.99, surpassing the previous school record by almost 4 seconds. The men's 400-yard freestyle relay of Hendriks, Dost, Beck, and Townley earned the school record posting a time of 2:58.28.
For the women, Sophomore Meredith Bangs broke the 200-yard IM record on Friday, recording a time of 2:05.95 at finals. Both teams had a very successful Rochester Invite and are looked to continue their success and pick up win against the Jackrabbits
