Huskies unable to respond to second half surge by Cougars
SIOUX FALLS, SD - The St. Cloud State men's basketball team dropped their third consecutive game after a tough loss to Sioux Falls Saturday afternoon at the Stewart Center. The Huskies were unable to respond to the Cougars second half surge as they fell 83-73 to USF. Every single Husky that touched the court added points to the board with three scoring in the double-digits.

GAME SUMMARY
Out of the 11 lead changes during the game, ten happened in the first half alone. St. Cloud went up by four after Ryan Bagley hit a step back three to put the Huskies up 7-3. Sioux Falls would then take the lead over with a three-pointer and go up 18-13 at the 14:16 mark. The game would then go back and forth between the two teams. Sioux Falls was looking to end the half up four until Matthew Willert hit a jumper behind the arc to make it a one-point game. The Huskies would enter the locker room down 36-35. St. Cloud shot .464 from the field with Willert leading with 13 first half points.

St. Cloud would take their last lead of the game, 37-36, one minute into the second half off a pair of free throws from Jalen Griffin. From there Sioux Falls found a surge of momentum to take control of the game going on a 20-4 run hitting four three-pointers in that time to go up by 15 over St. Cloud with a score of 56-41 with 12:58 left. USF would go up by 25 at the 4:43 mark. The Huskies were unable to respond to the point deficit and fell 83-73 to the Cougars. St. Cloud shot .393 from the field with Kevin Cook leading the half with ten points.

The Huskies are back home next weekend for a pair of NSIC South matchups at Halenbeck Hall. St. Cloud will host Augustana and Wayne State Jan. 27 and Jan. 28.
