Five Huskies Record Goals
ST. CLOUD, MINN. – No. 8 St. Cloud State (13-6-1, 8-6-1 WCHA) comes back to beat No. 6 Minnesota-Duluth (11-6-1, 8-6-0 WCHA) in game two of the series on Saturday night at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center.
SCORING POWER
The Huskies had five different skaters score in their 5-1 victory over No. 6 Minnesota-Duluth on Saturday evening. Klàrà Hymlàrovà would start the scoring for St. Cloud State just over the 15-minute mark in the first period. Just under 7 minutes had gone by in the second period before Alice Sauriol would put the Huskies up by two. Less than two minutes later, Dayle Ross would take a holding penalty. Avery Farrell was able to capitalize and find the back of the net short handed to put the Huskies up by three. Svenja Voigt would get called for body checking and the Bulldogs were able to score their first and final goal of game two with two extra skaters on the ice as the Bulldogs pulled their goaltender. Addi Scribner would score her second goal of the week to put the Huskies up 4-1 before Taylor Larson would score her second career goal and first as a Husky to leave the final score at 5-1.
BUILT DIFFERENT
The Huskies have had five games in the last eight days, picking up conference points in three of the five. First, the team took down No. 1 Ohio State on the road. Then, they go to a shootout against No. 2 Minnesota. Finally, they took down No. 6 Minnesota-Duluth for the first time since 2019.
