Wolfe breaks career games played record, Gophers end SCSU’s season with 6-1 win
MINNEAPOLIS – (RV) St. Cloud State Women's Hockey (12-23-2, 7-19-2 Western Collegiate Hockey Association) season ended after dropping game three of its WCHA First Round Series at No. 4 Minnesota, 6-1 on Sunday afternoon at Ridder Arena in Minneapolis.
Minnesota (25-10-1, 18-9-1 WCHA) scored the game's first two goals in the first 6:13 of play and took a 2-0 lead into the first intermission.
The Huskies cut their deficit in half just 65 seconds into the second period when redshirt junior alternate captain forward Laura Zimmermann (Ringgenberg, Switzerland) scored. Junior forward Sidney Jackel (Ann Arbor, Mich.) won a puck battle in the right circle and fired a shot that was saved by the pads of the Gopher netminder and picked up below the goal line by Zimmermann, who sent a backhand shot towards the goaltender which hit her stick and went between her legs into the back of the net.
Later in the second period the 'U' scored three more times including a shorthanded goal, pushing its lead to 5-1 before tacking on an empty net goal in the third period to make it 6-1.
Graduate captain defender Grace Wolfe (Owatonna, Minn.) skated in her 154th career game, breaking her tie with former teammate and two-time alternate captain Taytum Geier (2018-23) for the most in program history.

- Sophomore goaltender Emilia Kyrkkö (Nokia, Finland) saved 36+ shots for the seventh time this season. She ends the season ranked No. 1 in career goals against average (2.19), No. 2 in career save percentage (.930), No. 3 in career shutouts (7), tied for No. 3 in season shutouts (4), No. 6 in season save percentage (.933) and No. 8 in season goals against average (2.41).
- Junior forward Payton Holloway (Tomah, Wis.) skated in her 100th career game.
- Junior forward Alice Sauriol (Sherbrooke, Quebec) finished the season ranked tied for No. 8 in season assists (21) and tied for No. 10 in career game-winning goals (six).
- Graduate goaltender Jojo Chobak (Chicago, Ill.) ended her career No. 1 in career shutouts (11), No. 3 in career goals against average (2.59), No. 4 in career save percentage (.918), No. 7 in career wins (21) and No. 10 in career saves (1,597).
