Wolfe selected in the fifth round with the 55th pick, becomes fifth draft pick in program history
DETROIT – St. Cloud State Women's Hockey alum Grace Wolfe (Owatonna, Minn.) was selected by the New York Sirens in the fifth round with the 55th pick in the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) Draft, presented by Upper Deck on Wednesday evening at the Fox Theatre in Detroit. Wolfe becomes the fifth player in program history to be drafted to the PWHL in the third consecutive season.
Wolfe tied the record for games played in Husky sweater, with 154 and accumulated 268 blocks and 58 points in her five-year career. She was a three-time WCHA all-academic selection and a two-time WCHA scholar athlete recipient. She was the Huskies captain this season and one of five payers in program history to be a multi-year captain and just the second to wear a letter in three seasons.
SCSU Head Coach Mira Jalosuo on Wolfe during the pre-draft process...
"Grace was the heart and soul of our team. Captain with capital C. She is a smooth skater and had a record-breaking year. She is a very determined and reliable defenseman who can play both offensive and defensive role. Grace is known for her strong work ethic, competitiveness and commitment to team success."
