
St. Cloud State Volleyball releases 2023 schedule

Back-to-back NSIC Tournament Champion Huskies to travel to Alaska and Duluth for nonconference matches, host nine NSIC tilts at Halenbeck Hall
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Volleyball has announced their 2023 schedule. The Huskies' 27-match regular season slate features nonconference trips to the Seawolf Invitational in Anchorage, Alaska and the Up North Preseason Tournament in Duluth. Opening their season on Thursday, August 31 in Anchorage, SCSU will play nine nonconference matches before beginning Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play on Friday, September 15 with the club's Home Opener set for September 22. 11 of St. Cloud State's matches feature opponents who closed the 2022 season ranked or receiving votes in the final AVCA DII national poll.
The Huskies open their 2023 campaign with a trip to Anchorage, Alaska for the Seawolf Invitational hosted by Alaska Anchorage over the weekend of August 31 through September 2. SCSU will meet Alaska Fairbanks, Florida Tech, the host Seawolves and Upper Iowa over the course of the four-match tournament – facing UAF for the first time since 2008, Alaska Anchorage for the first time since 2000 and Florida Tech for the first time in program history.
St. Cloud State travels to Duluth the following weekend for the Up North Preseason Tournament (Sep. 7-9) for matches against Northern Michigan, Southern New Hampshire, Michigan Tech and Central Washington. The Penmen are a new opponent for SCSU while the tilt with Central Washington is just the second in the all-time series. After their visit north, the Huskies will tune up for conference play with a marquee nonconference showdown at Concordia-St. Paul on Tuesday, September 12 in a rematch of last season's NSIC Championship Final.
Conference play begins September 15-16 with a visit to Minot State and Mary. The Huskies' 2023 Home Opener is set for Friday, September 22 at 6:00 p.m. CT against Minnesota State-Moorhead followed by a Saturday tilt at 2:00 p.m. with Northern State. SCSU continues their four-match homestand the following weekend (Sep. 29-30) by hosting Wayne State and Augustana.
The Huskies open October with a Tuesday, October 3 match at Minnesota Crookston followed by a weekend at Southwest Minnesota State and Sioux Falls (Oct. 6-7). SCSU returns to Halenbeck Hall on Thursday, October 12 for a rivalry match with Minnesota Duluth then travels to Bemidji State on Saturday, October 14. A key homestand follows on October 20-21 as St. Cloud State welcomes Concordia-St. Paul and Minnesota State-Mankato to Halenbeck.
A lone Saturday tilt at Winona State on October 28 splits up a pair of home weekends as St. Cloud State closes their home schedule by hosting Mary and Minot State (Nov. 3-4). The regular season concludes with visits to Augustana and Wayne State on November 10-11 with the NSIC Tournament scheduled for November 17-19.
