
St. Cloud State Swimming and Diving Earn a Pair of Wins

The Men’s team picked up a win against the Jackrabbits, while the Women’s team won the Dragon Invite
ST. CLOUD, MN. –St. Cloud State Swimming and Diving earned wins at two separate meets over the weekend. The Men's Team faced off against South Dakota State at home on Friday Jan. 12, picking up a win against the Jackrabbits. While the Women's Team traveled to Fargo, ND to compete at the Dragon Invite on Saturday Jan. 13. Despite only competing at two of the three sessions, the team was able to come out on top.
TEAM SCORES
For the men, the Huskies scored 155.5 and the Jackrabbits earned 142.5 points.
For the women, St. Cloud scored 981.5, followed by Concordia St. Paul (880.5), Moorhead (873.5), UMary (752), Northern State (403.5), and Concordia College (267).
TOP HUSKIES
- Freshman Reid Tigges picked up a win in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 21.27 and also finished third in the 100-yard freestyle going a 47.57
- Senior Raf Hendriks swept the backstroke events, winning the 100-yard backstroke (49.89) and the 200-yard backstroke (1:48.35)
- Freshman Jimmy Nord earned first place in both 1-Meter (288.65) and 3-Meter (304.10) diving
- Senior Kara Cowell got the win in the 100-yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:09.40.
- Junior Meredith Bangs finished first in the 100-yard freestyle going a 54.48
UP NEXT
Next, the Huskies will host St. Johns/St. Bens at home for on Thursday, January 18 for their last regular season meet of the year. Events are slated to begin at 5:30 p.m. CT
