Two Husky Divers Earn their NCAA Qualifying Cuts at Home Diving Invite
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The St. Cloud State Dive Team hosted St. John's, St. Ben's, MSUM Mankato, Gustavus, and MSUM Moorhead at their annual SCSU Diving Invite on Saturday. Both Men's and Women's 1-meter and 3-meter events were contested in 11-dive format.
Top Huskies:
Kailey Fossell – won both women's 1-meter and 3-meter boards with the score of 420.10 and 443.55 respectively. Fossell's 6-dive score from 1-meter qualifies her for the preliminary qualification round at this year NCAA Championship meet in Geneva, OH.
Jimmy Nord – won men's 3-meter diving in a score of 492.15, besting second place by over 20 points.
Dylan Apicello – won men's 1-meter diving with a score of 464.65, with teammate, Nord, in second place with a 448.15. Apicello achieved his first of two qualifying scores needed to advance to the NCAA Championship.
