Huskies take early lead but surrender two goals in second half of 2-1 loss
MANKATO, Minn. – St. Cloud State Women's Soccer (11-4-5, 8-1-5 NSIC) dropped a tough game to Minnesota State (15-1-6, 11-0-3 NSIC), 2-1, in the first round of the NCAA Central Region on Friday in Mankato. Sophomore midfielder Grace Olson (West Des Moines, Iowa) scored in 14th minute to give the Huskies a 1-0 lead, but the Mavericks came out hard in the second half, scoring twice at the 53rd and 59th minutes take the lead and the game.

MSU's two goals early in the second half switch the momentum into their favor and caused SCSU to chase an equalizer the rest of the game. The Huskies had numerous scoring chance in the second half, including a corner kick with under a minute to play, but couldn't quite capitalize and tie the score.

- With the loss, SCSU moves to 8-27-4 all-time against Minnesota State.
- The Huskies are now 0-2-0 all-time in the NCAA Tournament.
- Olson's goal was the Huskies' first-ever goal in the NCAA Tournament.
- The Husky sophomore's fourth goal of the season was her sixth career score.
