No. 9 St. Cloud State Men’s Hockey Drops Series Opener to No. 16/18 North Dakota

Enright makes 29 saves in net, Huskies come up short in Grand Forks
GRAND FORKS, N.D. – No. 9 St. Cloud State Men's Hockey (10-6-0, 4-3-0 NCHC) had chances but ultimately fell to No. 16/18 North Dakota, 2-0, on Friday night at Ralph Engelstad Arena in Grand Forks. Fifth-year senior Gavin Enright (Farmington, Minn.) was solid in net, making 29 saves in his second consecutive start, but the Huskies were unable to finish on any of their 24 shots on goal.
After a scoreless first period, North Dakota first found the back of the net at the 9:57 mark of the second period, connecting on a rush just five seconds after a power play expired. Carter Wilke tapped in a backdoor score off a feed from Sacha Boisvert to take a 1-0 lead. Enright made 12 of his 29 saves in the middle frame as the Fighting Hawks outshot the Huskies 13-3 in the period.
The Fighting Hawks scored its second goal on a rebound that bounced into the high slot and found Jake Livanavage's stick, who fired back a shot that found the back of the net. The Huskies outshot UND 13-12 in the final period but couldn't find the back of the net.

- SCSU was a perfect 3-of-3 on the penalty kill to improve to 91.3 percent on the season. It marked the 10th time this season the Huskies have been perfect on the kill.
- Enright made a season-high 29 saves, marking the second time this season and 16th time in his career he has made 25 or more saves.
- Salquist had a season-high four shots on goal.
- Reiners matched a season-high in blocks with three.
