ST. CLOUD, Minn. — The Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) has just released the leagues All-Academic Team and Scholar Athlete Awards.
St. Cloud State has eight members on the Scholar Athlete Award list. To be eligible for the Scholar Athlete Award, student-athletes must have a 3.50 grade point average on a 4.0 scale for the previous two semesters. Student-athletes could also qualify if they maintained a 3.50 grade point average for all terms present at their university. In addition to the Scholar Athlete Award, the WCHA also recognizes student-athletes that maintained a 3.00 grade point average with the WCHA All-Academic Team Award. Similar to the Scholar Athlete Award, student-athletes on the WCHA All-Academic Team maintained a 3.00 grade point average on a 4.0 scale for their previous two semesters or the entirety of their enrollment at their present university, and be considered second year status academically.
St. Cloud State has 13 student-athletes on the WCHA All-Academic Team. Eight of the student-athletes on the WCHA All-Academic team are also recipients of the WCHA Scholar Athlete Award. The five others are junior Ella Anick (Hermantown, Minn.), senior Emma Gentry (Alpena, Mich.), junior Devyn Millwater (Victoria, British Columbia), junior Dayle Ross (Spirit River, Alberta), and sophomore Laura Zimmermann (Ringgenberg, Switzerland).
