
Sanni Ahola Named WCHA Goaltender of the Year

ST. CLOUD, Minn. — Goaltender Sanni Ahola (Helsinki, Finland) has been named the WCHA Goaltender of the Year following her performance during the 2023-24 season.
This season for the Huskies, Ahola played in 17 games, going 10-6-1. Ahola posted 5 shutouts on the season across 1013.27 minutes in net. Ahola made 417 saves and let in 29 goals in those 17 games. This season, Ahola posted a .935 save percentage and a 1.72 goals against average. Ahola also picked up one assist in the Huskies 6-2 win over Bemidji State for her second career point.
Ahola was selected for the All-WCHA First team, HCA Goaltender of the Month in September, October, and December, WCHA Goaltender of the Month in October and December, and was awarded WCHA Goaltender of the Week once in September, October, and December.
In addition, Ahola helped the Huskies take down top-ranked Ohio State by a score of 2-1 in December 2023. Ahola made 46 saves on 47 shots faced in the victory.
