Huskies continue perfect start to NSIC season, Kimm and Wachal nearly post double-doubles
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – No. 10 St. Cloud State Volleyball (13-3, 8-0 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference) earned its eighth straight win after sweeping Augustana (8-8, 2-6 NSIC) on Friday evening at the Elmen Center in Sioux Falls. The Huskies won the match in straight sets, 25-22, 25-21 and 25-14.
For the second time in program history and second consecutive season, the Huskies have started conference play with an 8-0 record.
TOP HUSKIES
"That was definitely a gritty win for us. I thought we had nice runs in each of the three sets, but in the first two sets Augustana and did a fantastic job of fighting back. We were able to make enough plays late to finish them out, but both sets came down to two or three points at the end. Abby Wachal was absolutely fantastic on the outside and our defense did enough to give us chances. I thought we were much better again in the serve and pass part of our game. We had a couple players struggle at times offensively but really battled through it and got better throughout the match."
