Roed scored three points in series sweep over Alaska Anchorage
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – St. Cloud State Men's Hockey freshman forward Nolan Roed (White Bear Lake, Minn.) was named the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league on Tuesday. Roed scored three points with a +2 mark on the ice in a series sweep over Alaska Anchorage.
The weekly honor is the first of Roed's career and the second of the season after freshman goaltender Yan Shostak (Minsk, Belarus) earned the honor last week.
Nolan Roed scored a goal and had two assists for three points with a +2 mark on the ice in SCSU's Homecoming sweep over Alaska Anchorage (5-2, 5-1). The White Bear Lake native also added four shots on goal and a .576 mark in the faceoff dot (19-14). Roed had two points (1-1-2) in Friday's 5-2 win while going 10-7 in the faceoff dot, then had the primary assist on fellow freshman Noah Urness' (Roseau, Minn.) game-winning goal on Saturday while going 9-7 in the faceoff dot.
On the season, Roed has two goals and five assists for seven points with a +2 mark on the ice and a .562 faceoff percentage (68-53). Roed's seven points are the most among SCSU freshmen, rank third among NCHC freshmen and 10th among freshmen nationally.
