Huskies earn win in 2025 home opener, second straight-set win of the season
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – No. 10 St. Cloud State Volleyball (3-2 overall, 0-0 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference) swept Adelphi (N.Y.) (1-4, 0-0 Northeast 10 Conference) to open its 2025 home schedule and the Best Western/Kelly Inn of St. Cloud UP North Tournament at Halenbeck Hall on Thursday evening. The Huskies took the straight set win by scores of 25-19, 25-18 and 26-24.
TOP HUSKIES
"I thought it was a good team effort to open up the home portion of our season, against an Adelphi team that has historically done very well in their region. I still think that we are trying to find that balance of being aggressive, while also keeping balls in and I was a little frustrated that we made it felt like we had a lot of unforced errors tonight, however when we needed to make big plays, like late in the third set, we made them, so I'm very proud of us for that. We definitely have to serve and pass better to be successful against the rest of the teams this weekend. The game plan was to try to shut down their outsides, and I thought we did a pretty decent job of, but then some of the other attackers had a pretty solid night offensively."
NOTABLES
The Huskies continue play at the Best Western/Kelly Inn of St. Cloud UP North Tournament on Friday with a pair of matches against teams from the Great Lakes State. SCSU faces off against Northern Michigan at 2 p.m. and Michigan Tech at 5:30 p.m. in Halenbeck Hall. Links to each coverage option can be found on the St. Cloud State Volleyball schedule page.
