The Huskies got off to a quiet start on the offensive end as they totaled five points in the first eight and a half minutes. Despite the slow start on the offensive end, the defense of SCSU kept them in the game as they held BSU to only nine points in that same span. A triple by Kynan Philippe brought life to the offense as the Huskies rattled off a 12-5 run to take a 17-14 lead. St. Cloud State started to take control of the game as Luke Winkel got hot with a 9-4 run to give the Huskies a 36-24 lead. SCSU ultimately went into the break with a 40-27 lead in part to a strong defensive half. St. Cloud State held the Beavers to 31% from the field and 1/7 from three.
Moving into the second half, BSU cut the lead down to seven points in the first five minutes. Winkel calmed the storm with a slot three to push the lead back up to 10. After the teams traded free throw makes, the Ankeny, Iowa native brought rain again, this time from the top of the key, to extend the lead to 13 at the 12:51 mark of the second half. Bemidji State did not go away quietly as 11-4 run got them within six points. On the ensuing possession, Philippe cashed a huge three that catalyzed the Huskies. SCSU held the Beavers to two field goals in the final 8:35 with a five-minute scoreless drought built in. The Huskies would go on to win 66-55 to stay undefeated at Halenbeck Hall.
