Huskies look to stay perfect in NSIC
St. Cloud, MN. – No. 13 St. Cloud State Wrestling (13-2, 6-0 NSIC) continue conference play this weekend as they host No. 11 Augustana on Saturday, January 31 at Halenbeck Hall. The dual is set to begin at 1:00 p.m.

St. Cloud State returned to Halenbeck Hall this past week as they took on No. 12 UMary.
No. 13 Huskies Rally for 25-13 Win Over No. 12 UMary- January 22, 2026
The dual began at 285 where Zach Glazier would make his much-anticipated debut for the Huskies as he took on No. 3 Luke Tweeton. After a scoreless first period, Tweeton would score the first points of the match with an escape. The two wrestlers battled into collar ties before Glazier snagged an ankle of Tweeton with his left hand and ultimately worked his way to a takedown. He would ride out Tweeton the remainder of the second before Tweeton allowed Glazier to escape to start the third. The collar ties stayed consistent in the third period. With time ticking away and in need of a takedown, Tweeton misfired on a shot that Glazier turned into a double leg takedown. Adding on a riding time point, Zach Glazier would come away with the 8-1 win over No. 3 Luke Tweeton.
Moving back up to 125, Ben Aranda produced four takedowns in what would be a 14-2 victory.
With the Huskies leading 7-0, UMary rattled off the next three matches to take a 13-7 lead. No. 5 Jacob Strausbaugh would pin Ethan Bast. No. 4 Sean Solis came away with a 11-3 major decision against Jayce Luna and a first period takedown would propel Kale Baumann to a 4-1 decision over Alyeus Craig.
Coming out of the intermission, No. 2 Joel Jesuroga took to the mat against No. 13 Kaden Renner. Jesuroga captured five takedowns as he nearly came away with a tech fall. He would come away with a 16-3 major decision to put the Huskies back on track.
No. 14 Derek Johnson used a third period takedown to secure a 4-1 decision against Lane Ewing as the Huskies took a 14-13 lead. No. 11 Bryce Dagel followed and added a decision of his own. A takedown with 18 seconds left secured Dagel's 7-2 win over Joey Mushinsky.
Now holding a 17-13 lead, No. 2 Cole Glazier secured the win for the Huskies with an 8-1 decision. Tyson Meyer closed it out with an 18-3 tech fall as St. Cloud State rallied for the 25-13 win.

St. Cloud State enters this week ranked 13th in the latest NWCA Poll. SCSU started the year ranked eighth and currently hold four ranked wrestlers.
The individuals who are ranked for the Huskies are as follows:
157 Pounds- No. 2 Joel Jesuroga (13-0, 8-0 vs NSIC, 3-0 vs ranked), eight bonus point wins (six major decisions, two tech falls)
165 Pounds- No. 14 Derek Johnson (8-1, 4-0 vs NSIC, 1-1 vs ranked), five bonus point wins (five major decisions)
174 Pounds- No. 11 Bryce Dagel (9-2, 5-0 vs NSIC, 1-2 vs ranked), six bonus point wins (two major decision, one tech fall, three falls)

Double Glazier
With the turnover of the new year, the Huskies added a second Glazier to their roster in Zach Glazier. After serving as a volunteer assistant coach for the first semester, Glazier will be returning to the mat. He is the brother of 184-pounder Cole Glazier. Prior to SCSU, Zach wrestled at Iowa and South Dakota State where he was a two-time NCAA Qualifier at the Division I level wrestling at 197-pounds. He was the Runner-Up at the Big Ten Championships in 2024 and finished third at the Big 12 Championships in 2025. Glazier is 1-0 with the Huskies after a win this past weekend.
NSIC Wrestler of the Week
Following his 8-1 win vs No. 3 Luke Tweeton, Zach Glazier was named NSIC Wrestler of the Week. He is the third Husky to be named NSIC Wrestler of the Week this season joining Dominic Ducato who earned the honor in November and Gabriel Smith who won it last week.
300 Rise of an Empire
With the Huskies win over UMary this past weekend, Head Coach Steve Costanzo is now one wins away from reaching 300 career wins at St. Cloud State. The program's all-time winningest coach holds a record of 299-33 during his 20 years at SCSU. Costanzo is 132-11 in conference duals during his tenure.
Series History
Saturday's dual against Augustana will be the 49th all-time dual between the teams. St. Cloud State holds a 28-20 record against the Vikings and have won 15 straight duals including their meeting earlier in the season.

St. Cloud State would open their day against another NSIC foe in No. 13 Augustana.
The Huskies got off to a fast start as they won the first three matches. A second period takedown for Austin Grzywinski propelled him to a 5-4 decision at 125.
At 133, Mason Mills produced a strong ride in the third period to come away with a 4-3 decision against Braiden Kort. Mills rode out Kort for the entirety of the third to secure the riding time point. Rowdy Neighbor extended the lead to 9-0 after a 5-1 victory at 141.
Augustana took the bout at 149 by decision, but No. 2 Joel Jesuorga got those points right back as two takedowns secured a 7-3 win.
Derek Johnson and Brody Hart each tallied major decision victories as the Huskies lead ballooned to 20-3. Johnson won 11-2 with three takedowns while Hart captured a 13-3 win highlighted by two takedowns, three nearfall points and a reversal.
Augustana came away with a decision at 184 to set the score at 20-6. Nathan Fury got in on the bonus point action as he came away with a 12-2 major decision. Donnie Hidden closed out the dual with a bang as he pinned Max Balow in 1:44 to finalize the score at 30-6.

Scouting Augustana
The Augustana Vikings come into this dual with a 9-5 record and a 5-0 record in the NSIC. They are currently ranked No. 11 in the latest NWCA Poll. Most notably, the Vikings has beaten Minnesota State, King, McKendree, and Tiffin. The Vikings are coming off a 2024-25 season where they went 10-8 and finished third at Super Region V. Augustana qualified four to the NCAA Tournament in Jaxson Rohman, Cael Larson, Cade Mueller, and Max Ramberg. All four went on to earn All-American honors with Larson winning the National Championship at 149. As a team, the Vikings would finish as the National Runner-Up. Coming into this season, Augustana was ranked No. 14 and were projected to finish second in the NSIC.
Augustana currently holds four ranked wrestlers in Luke Koenen (No. 15, 141), Nolan Ambrose (No. 6, 149), Coy Gunderson (No. 5, 174), and Max Ramberg (No. 1, 197). Koenen is 19-8 with 11 bonus point wins. Ambrose is 21-3 with 17 bonus point wins. Gunderson is 15-4 with 11 bonus point wins. He was also named Second Team All-NSIC last season. Ramberg is 7-0 with five bonus point wins. Larson also returns for the Vikings and moved up to 157 and is currently not ranked. He holds a 5-6 record.
Head Coach Jason Retimeier enters his 23rd season with Augustana in 2025-26. He was named NSIC Coach of the Year last season.
