The Nick Oliver Show, Nov. 2, 2026 | Assistant Coach Spencer Meier, William Ahlrik, Nolan Roed

Jim Erickson welcomes sophomore forward Nolan Roed, junior transfer William Ahlrik, and assistant coach Spencer Meier, who fills in for head coach Nick Oliver, to the fourth Nick Oliver Show, live from the Green Mill. Roed and Ahlrik talk about the Huskies' split with Arizona State, a 3-2 loss Friday and a 2-1 win Saturday that opened with a goal 14 seconds in. They cover the stricter face-off enforcement, including Ahlrik getting tossed five times in a row, and Ahlrik's deflection goal off a Garrett Frazer shot. Ahlrik describes leaving home at 15 to play for HV 71 in Sweden, then playing in Oklahoma City and at Lake Superior State.

Meier, a Sartell native and former Husky, talks about getting the assistant coaching job, his year in the Capitals organization, and coaching at Sartell High School. Meier also covers the Huskies' habit of bouncing back on Saturdays, the secondary scoring, Hayden Paupanekis's improvement on face-offs, and Yan Shostak's 42 saves Saturday. He gives an update on Jack Reimann, who has surgery Tuesday and is hoped to return after Christmas. The Huskies play at Omaha Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. Central, with pregame on KNSI at 6:30. The show returns next Monday at 6 p.m. after the Huskies host Duluth.
