Eleven SCSU Women’s Hockey Players Earn WCHA Scholar-Athlete Award

Eleven Huskies recognized for their excellence in the classroom

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – St. Cloud State Women's Hockey had 11 student athletes named 2025-26 Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) Scholar-Athletes, as announced by the conference office on Thursday. Eleven is tied for the most the Scholar-Athletes the Huskies have had since the 2018-19 team had 13 – there were also 11 in 2024-25.

To be eligible for the WCHA Scholar Athlete Award, student-athletes must have earned a GPA of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale in their previous two semesters or three quarters and have achieved at least sophomore status in their academic careers. The WCHA Scholar-Athletes are selected with the help of the Faculty Athletic Representatives from each of the member institutions. In total, 99 student-athletes earned the 2025-26 WCHA Scholar Athlete Award, presented by Sterling Trophy.

Chobak (three times with SCSU, once with UMD) is a four-time selection, Bulger, Voigt and Wolfe are three-time honorees, Bryant, Farrell and Sauriol are two-time picks, while Jackel, Lawrence, Moran and Zimmermann are all first-time selections.
