No. 13 Huskies Capture 26-12 Win Over RV Minnesota State in Home Finale

Huskies stay unbeaten in NSIC
St. Cloud, MN. – No. 13 St. Cloud State Wrestling (15-2, 8-0 NSIC) stayed unbeaten in the NSIC Friday evening as they beat RV Minnesota State 26-12. SCSU won their seventh consecutive dual after winning seven of the 10 bouts.
Beginning at 125, Ben Aranda put the Huskies on the board first with a 9-3 decision. Aranda came away with an early first period takedown and translated that into a strong ride of over 90 seconds. He would start period two with a quick reversal after beginning down and then added another takedown late in the period and riding for the win. Dominic Ducato doubled the lead for the Huskies as a takedown in the third period propelled him to a 6-1 decision. Ducato rode out Chase Beckett in the second period which led to a riding time point.
With a 6-0 lead, Jayce Luna came away with a 17-2 tech fall over Colton Hush. Four takedowns and four nearfall points propelled Luna to the tech. Minnesota State would get on the board with a decision at 149 as No. 13 Walker Bents beat Alyeus Craig 6-2.
SCSU held a 11-3 lead as No. 2 Joel Jesuroga took to the mat against No. 8 Caleb Meunier. Two takedowns pushed Jesuroga to the 7-5 win as he stayed unbeaten on the year.
The Mavericks got back in the dual as they won the next two matches to only trail by two points. No. 14 Derek Johnson would be defeated 4-1 in sudden victory while No. 13 Drake Hayward would pin Brody Hart.
With a 14-12 lead, No. 2 Cole Glazier provided a key 11-2 major decision to push the Huskies lead to six points. Glazier produced three takedowns, an escape, and riding time as he stayed undefeated. Tyson Meyer would seal the dual victory for SCSU as tacked on a major decision of his own. Meyer would also tally three takedowns, an escape, and riding time.
Now holding a 22-12 lead, Jadon Mims closed out the dual with the third straight major decision for the Huskies. Mims came away with three takedowns, three nearfall points, an escape, and riding time as St. Cloud State went on to win 26-12.
