
Huskies Cruise to 102-65 Win Over Sioux Falls for 12th Straight Win

SCSU stays unbeaten at Halenbeck Hall
St. Cloud, MN – St. Cloud State Men's Basketball (19-5, 16-2 NSIC) picked up their 12th straight win Saturday afternoon as they beat Sioux Falls 102-65. The Huskies remain unbeaten at Halenbeck Hall with a 12-0 record.
St. Cloud State burst out the gates with a 7-2 run as Lee Marks III finished a fastbreak layup for an and-one. The Huskies would slowly build up their lead withhot shooting and their usual stout defensive play. A jumper by Azayah Washington pushed the lead up to 12 points with 12:24 left in the half as Sioux Falls called a timeout. SCSU was consistently able to break the paint off perimeter drives and then finish inside as they shot 56% from two in the half. A three-pointer by Anish Ramlall with 3:11 left in the half pushed the lead up to 20 points. That lead held firm as SCSU went into halftime leading 53-33.
The second half saw similar results as the Huskies led by 20+ points the rest of the way with a lead as big as 37 points. St. Cloud State went on to win 102-65 for their 12th straight win. Against the top scoring offense in the NSIC, SCSU put together a pristine performance as they held the Cougars to 36.5% from the field, 16.7% from three, and forced 16 turnovers. The Huskies put together a strong offensive performance by shooting 48.5% from the field, 38.5% from three on 10 makes, and only committing three turnovers.
Top Huskies
- Kynan Philippe tallied a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds. He shot 8/12 from the field to go with two threes and a steal. This was Philippe's first double-double of the season and second game scoring 19+ points.
- Wyatt Hawks led the Huskies in scoring with 20 points on an efficient 9/13 shooting. He also grabbed five rebounds and added three stocks (two block and a steal). This was Hawks' second game with 20+ points this season and 13th multi-block game.
- Azayah Washington scored 17 points and dished out a career-high five assists. He also cashed four threes in the game. This was Washington's third game scoring 17+ points this season. The St. Cloud native was a team-high +32.

- St. Cloud State is now 16-7 all-time against Sioux Falls.
- The Huskies led the game in field goal percentage (48.5-36.5), three-pointers made (10-3), free throws made (26-16), assists (19-9), steals (11-2), blocks (4-0), points off turnovers (19-2), points in the paint (46-28), fast break points (21-10), and bench points (36-19).
- SCSU won their 12th straight game which is the longest streak since 2002-03 where they won 13 in a row. The Huskies also moved to 12-0 at Halenbeck Hall which is the longest unbeaten home streak since 1987-88 where they started 13-0.
- With the win, St. Cloud State clinched a top four seed in the NSIC standings and receive an automatic bye to the Sanford Pentagon in the NSIC Tournament.
- Luke Winkel tallied 14 points, five assists, and two steals. He shot 8/12 at the free throw line. This was his eighth game dishing out 5+ assists this season.
- Will Brands scored a career-high 13 points on 3/3 shooting from the field and 4/4 from the free throw line. He also grabbed two rebounds. All three of his field goals were threes which were a career-high in makes.
- Izaac Neal totaled three points, six rebounds, and five stocks (two blocks and three steals). Both the blocks and steals were career-highs.
- Anish Ramlall registered eight points, three rebounds, and two steals. He shot 2/3 from the field and 3/4 at the line. This was Ramlall's seventh multi-steal game this season.
- Lee Marks III tallied five points, four rebounds, and two assists.
- Nathan Bunkosky produced two points and three assists and rebounds. He was a +16.
- Tre Blissett nabbed two steals which was his second multi-steal game this season.
