Huskies finalize 2026 recruiting class
St. Cloud, MN. – St. Cloud State Men's Basketball Head Coach Quincy Henderson finalized the Huskies 2026 recruiting class with the addition of Hamze Yusuf and Rhys Nebben to the program Thursday morning. Both Yusuf and Nebben will be incoming freshmen with Yusuf coming from Eden Prairie High School and Nebben hailing from Monticello High School. The pair joins 6'9 Kevin Kemp, 6'5 Alex Schroepfer, and 6'11 Luke Christensen as the Huskies 2026 recruiting class.
A 6'1 guard from Eden Prairie, Minnesota, Hamze Yusuf is an incoming freshman from Eden Prairie High School. His senior season saw Yusuf average 24.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 4.0 assists. He also played with the Hoop Habits AAU program.
"Hamze is a player that makes everybody around him better," said Henderson. "He is the consummate teammate, plays with a high motor and competes on both sides of the basketball. He is coming off of a phenomenal senior year at Eden Prairie and will give us an added boost on the perimeter. Having played for a well-coached high school program and a high-level AAU program in Hoop Habits, he has been prepped for the quality play of the NSIC. We look forward to getting him on campus in the Fall."
A 6'3 guard from Monticello, Minnesota, Rhys Nebben played high school ball in his hometown at Monticello High School. This past year in his senior season, Nebben averaged 13.7 points, 7.1 rebounds, 6.2 assists, and 1.7 steals. Nebben was a key piece for a Magic program that won back-to-back conference championships during his tenure. He also played AAU ball with MN Comets.
"We are excited to have Ryhs join the program," said Henderson. "Over his four years at Monticello High School he helped build a program that won back-to-back conference championships. He played his AAU basketball for the well-established MN Comets. He impacts the game in multiple ways and will be a great addition to our incoming freshman recruiting class."
