Huskies add second and third signees for upcoming season
St. Cloud, MN. – St. Cloud State Men's Basketball Head Coach Quincy Henderson announced the addition of Alex Schroepfer and Luke Christensen to the program Thursday morning. Schroepfer will be an incoming freshman from Eagan High School while Christensen will be a junior transferring from North Dakota State College of Science. The pair joins 6'9 Kevin Kemp to make up the 2026 Huskies recruiting class.
A 6'5 guard from Eagan, Minnesota, Alex Schroepfer played high school ball in his hometown at Eagan High School. This past year in his senior season, Schroepfer averaged 16 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 5.0 assists on an Eagan team that went 20-9. Schroepfer also played AAU with MN Fury. Schroepfer will be reunited with Eagan teammate Kevin Kemp who signed with the Huskies earlier in the year.
"Alex has shown a great level of consistency through his AAU and High School seasons," said Henderson. "He has a high basketball IQ and uses his size and skill to produce at the guard position. He is a competitor and understands the level of work needed to be effective in the NSIC. He possesses all of the qualities that lead to success at our level. I am excited to see where he will take his game over his time here."
A 6'11 guard from Breckenridge, Minnesota, Luke Christensen is a junior transferring from North Dakota State College of Science. In his sophomore season at NDSCS, Christensen averaged 12.1 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 1.0 blocks while shooting 58% from the field and 44% from three. The Wildcats produced a 26-6 record on their way to winning the conference.
"Luke is a great kid that strives to be great at whatever he sets his eyes on," said NDSCS Head Coach Gach Gach. "SCSU is going to love Luke and the energy and passion that he brings to the game."
"I have enjoyed getting to know Luke during the recruitment process and watching his development over the past season," said Henderson. "He comes from a great program under Gach Gach's leadership. His size and length will translate well to the NSIC. He has the ability to stretch the floor with his shooting and is a very productive rebounder. We are always looking for "fit", and he meshes well with our returning group. I look forward to watching his continued development in the Husky uniform."
