Zinger Signs with ECHL’s Utah Grizzlies

Zinger scored 15 points in two seasons with Huskies
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Men's Hockey senior defenseman Josh Zinger (Red Deer, Alberta) signed a professional contract with the ECHL's Utah Grizzlies, as announced by the organization on March 12. Zinger spent his final two collegiate seasons with the Huskies where he scored five goals and 10 assists for 15 points in 69 games.
Zinger played all 36 games in his 2025-26 senior campaign producing one goal and six assists for seven points with 26 blocks. In his first season in the black and red (2024-25), he scored four goals and four assists for eight points with 20 blocks in 33 games.
Prior to SCSU, Zinger spent two seasons with Northern Michigan (2022-24), scoring six goals and 30 assists for 36 points. He earned back-to-back all-conference honors in his time with the Wildcats, being named to the All-CCHA Rookie Team in 2022-23 after three goals and 13 assists for 16 points in 38 games before earning All-CCHA Second Team honors in 2023-24 after three goals and 17 assists for 20 points in 34 games. He was twice named the CCHA Defenseman of the Week this past season and led all Wildcat blue liners in goals, assists, points, power play goals and game-winning goals.
For his career, the forward turned D-man produced 11 goals and 40 assists for 51 points in 141 career games. In the classroom, he earned back-to-back NCHC Academic All-Conference and NCHC Distinguished Scholar-Athlete awards in 2024-25 and 2025-26.
