Bio
2018-19: In his final season with the Huskies, Theisen played and started in all 31 games for St. Cloud State. He earned Second Team All-Conference, First Team Academic All-District and First Team Academic All-America honors after a career season in 2018-19. Theisen scored a career-high 463 points on .507 shooting from three-point land with 65 rebounds, 30 assists, four blocks and 14 steals as well. More impressively, the senior led the nation in three-point shooting throughout the month of February and ended the regular season ranked second in Division II in three-point FG percentage, threes made and threes per game. Theisen broke the school record for single-season threes made and career games played (126) in 2018-19 and earned the NSIC's Miles Brand Award and Elite 18 Award for his success in the classroom.
2017-18: Academic All-NSIC award winner in 2018...2018 Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar award recipient...played and started in 33 games during 2017-18 season...averaged 12.9 ppg...86 three pointers with a .413 3FG shooting rate...149 field goals (.446) along with 41-of-56 from the free throw line...84 rebounds, 35 assists and 25 steals as a junior.
2016-17: One of five players to play in all 33 games...averaged 4.2 points and 2.1 rebounds per game...shot 39.2 percent from the field (49-for-125) and 36.5 percent from three-point range (31-for-85)...scored in double figures three times...scored 11 points against Bemidji State (1/6/17)...put 10 plus points in each of his final two games of the season with 10 points against Wayne State (2/22/17) and 11 points against Upper Iowa (2/26)...Academic All-NSIC Award winner.
2015-16: Played in all 29 games with one start....averaged 4.5 points per game while shooting 47.5 percent from the field (47-for-99), 42.4 percent from three point range (28-for-66) and 75 percent from the free throw line (9-for-12)...totaled 131 points and 48 rebounds...scored in double figures six times including a career-high 16 points against MSU Moorhead (2/13/16) and Crown College (11/24/15).
Prior to SCSU: A 2015 graduate of St. Cloud Cathedral High School, where he played under head coach Matt Meyer...a four year letterwinner in basketball...twice was named the Minnesota Old Dutch Athlete of the Week...earned an all-conference nod three times...was twice named to the all-area team...twice was named the Granite Ridge Conference's MVP...played in the MBCA All-Star series...scored 1,812 points over the course of his career...averaged 20 points per game as a sophomore, 22 points a contest as a junior and completed his career with an average of 24 points a game as a senior...finished his career as Cathedral's all-time leading scorer including a game high of 45 points...totaled a school-record 648 points in his final season...played his club basketball with the Minnesota Comments...also a three-time letterwinner in baseball...was named the 2015 St. Cloud Times Player of the Year on the diamond...twice aided his team to state championships in baseball and played in the Play Ball Minnesota All-Star Series
