Bio
2020-21: Tyrtyshnik saw his second year at St. Cloud State cut short due to a season-ending injury. In the six games prior, he averaged 11.8 points per game, scoring 71 total points while averaging .551 shooting from the floor, including a .500 clip from three-point range. He scored a season-high 23 points in a win over Minot State in mid-January by shooting 8-12 from the floor and 3-6 from beyond the arc. He additionally tallied a career-high seven rebounds in the win.
2019-20: In his first season with the Huskies, Tyrtyshnik appeared in all 29 games and made 27 starts for St. Cloud State. He served as the team's primary perimeter threat, as he averaged 9.9 points per game while taking nearly 200 shots from beyond the arc. Tyrtyshnik scored 286 points in his first season with the Huskies and added 98 rebounds, 33 assists, nine blocks and 28 steals. He scored a career-high 26 points in a shootout win over Concordia-St. Paul in mid-January thanks to 6-10 shooting from three-point range.
Previous Experience: Prior to joining St. Cloud State, Tyrtyshnik spent a year at Ole Miss and North Platte Community College. While at Ole Miss, Tytyshnik earned a spot on the South Eastern Conference (SEC) All-First Year Academic Team.
High School: Tyrtyshnik was rated one of the top guard prospects in 2017 by the Eurohoops Scouting Service and represented Ukraine in the U20 European Championships that same summer. Additionally, he led Ukraine to a second place finish at the 2016 FIBA U18 European Championships, averaging 16.4 points, 3.7 assists and 3.6 rebounds during the tournament. He spent his final high school season at GBA Prague, a prep school in the Czech Republic, where he averaged 14.5 points, 3.8 assists and 3.5 rebounds a game.
Personal: Tyrtyshnik is the son of Vyacheslav and Olga Tyrtyshnik. His father, Vyacheslav, competed in the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta as a high jumper for Ukraine.
