2012-13: Played in all 36 games during her junior season ... Tallied one goal with three assists on the season ... Recorded 29 shots ... -7 plus/minus ... 14/28 PIM ... Posted 60 blocks during the season ... Her sole goal came against Bemidji State on the road (Oct. 12) which was unassisted and the game winning goal.
2011-12: Played in all 36 games in her sophomore season ... Recorded one goal with three assists and 26 shots ... -37 plus/minus ... 16/32 PIM ... Her first goal as a Husky came on a power-play goal at the University of Minnesota Duluth on Dec. 2 ... Recorded 48 blocks on the season.
Before SCSU: A transfer from Wayne State University (Mich.) to the 2011-12 Husky women’s hockey roster, Cari Coen hails from Manhattan Beach, Calif., and played for the Wayne State Warriors during the 2010-11 season. She charted 11 points (2g, 9a) in 31 games played for head coach Jim Fetter’s squad and finished eighth among College Hockey America rookies and seventh among league defenders in scoring. For her efforts she landed on the 2011 CHA All-Rookie Team.
Personal: Before her collegiate career, Coen played both forward and defense for the L.A. Selects from 2007-10. The team captain helped her prep team win two regional titles playing in the Southern California Amateur Hockey Association. She was a goaltender before her amateur years, including a season with the West Valley Wolves in 2005-06. A 2010 graduate of Rolling Hills Prep, Coen was a three-sport athlete in high school, participating in volleyball, soccer and softball. The daughter of William Coen and Janet Gregory, she has four brothers and majoring in sports management at St. Cloud State with a minor in coaching.
